What is heritage in the NCS context?

The intention of Learning Outcome 4 is to help broaden the learners' understanding of history and the past. Heritage in the curriculum is not only about our South African past, but can be included in any of the topics in Grades 10 - 12. While teachers are encouraged to engage learners with practical heritage assignments that take them into the community or to site visits, the Learning Outcomes are written in such a way that a research project could be set. The aim is to make this outcome as interesting and exciting as possible for you as a teacher and for the learners.
