The HIV & AIDS Life Skills component of the Western Cape Education Department’s Directorate: Curriculum Development welcomes you and introduces you to its belief that every learner has the ability to achieve, irrespective of her/his level of abilities and capabilities. Its message therefore is that every child must be provided with access and opportunity to achieve through the curriculum. It is against this backdrop that the name “ACHIEVE THROUGH THE CURRICULUM” was given to drive the “Infusion of HIV and AIDS Life Skills with the Curriculum” programme. “ACHIEVE” is in fact an acronym and is defined as follows:
