Welcome to the Home page of the three Agricultural Subjects

Agricultural Subjects are crucial subjects in schools, where the next generation of farmers, agricultural advisers, research scientists and consumers are educated. This web site offers support to the three agricultural subjects and needs the support and wisdom of the many exceptional educators in these subjects.  Your comments and contributions will be appreciated.

Visitor from USA

Ms Nela from Hector Peterson H/S proudly showed prof Delehanty their school garden and explained their plans for the future. 

Prof. J. Delehanty from University of Wisconsin-Madison visited South Africa in January 2007.  He had a number of meetings with various people at UWC, conducted a grant proposal writing workshop and also visited three high schools.  He visited Hector Peterson H/S to observe their progress with regard to the establishment of a vegetable garden at the school.

Agricultural Science (Report 550) will be a national subject in 2006

From 2006 all the Grade 12 learners in the nine provinces are writing the same two national examination question papers in Agricultural Science. The duration of each of the two Higher and Standard Grade papers will be 2 hours. The two papers are going to be written on different days. Read more

Agricultural Sciences in Madison (USA)

12 educators from South Africa were able to participate in the Teacher Enhancement Programme of University of Wisconsin-Madison (WisTEP) during the July School holiday. We were also invited to two High Schools which are offering Agricultural Sciences. Read more
