Maximizing your Potential within an Inclusive Education System

Welcome to the Barriers to Learning homepage!

The South African Constitution challenges us to ensure that all learners receive quality education and that they are given the opportunity to develop to the best of their ability.

Policies and guidelines informing the ongoing rollout of Inclusive Education in South Africa are all availabe on this website on the resource page.  The latest developments regarding curriculum adaptation and alternative assessment in the Western Cape Education Department are also available via the resource page.    Practical experiences by specialists in the field dealing with the implementation of the NCS in the classroom will soon be available on this website as well.

The adaptation of Learning Programmes, Work Schedules and Lesson Plans will ensure success for learners with barriers to learning in the inclusive classroom.   Teachers are invited to forward examples of such adaptations to share with colleagues on this website!
