The Education White Paper 6 on Special Education - Building an Inclusive Education and Training System gives an outline of the inclusive education system envisaged in South Africa and how the process will develop.
The DoE has developed a policy for Assessment Guidelines for Inclusive Education for Curriculum 2005. This will include the process of assessment of learners for the General Education and Training Certificate which will be awarded at the end of Gr 9 and automatically influence procedures from grade one to nine.
