The WCED released an amended final timetable for the National Senior Certificate examination for grade 12 this week. This is the first time that the examination, which is based on the new curriculum (National Curriculum Statement), will be written in South Africa. Amendments were made to accomodate some of the candidates in the country that experienced clashes which could not be anticipated prior to the registration of the candidates.
The examination for grade 12 will commence on the 29 October with foreign languages including German, Hebrew, Portuguese and French. The examination ends on the 3 December 2008 with Mathematics Paper 3, an optional paper, and Electrical Technology.
The current cohort of grade 12 learners have received exemplars of question papers for grade 10 in 2006, for grade 11 in 2007 and also at the beginning of this year for grade 12. They also participated in a grade 11 national examination in 2007. [22-August-2008] |
